Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Hotel Cabin is often chosen for its convenient location, within walking distance of Reykjavik city center and a pleasant walking path along the bay. The hotel offers practical amenities such as free luggage storage and complimentary parking, which is a definite plus. While some guests have found the rooms quite minimalist and compact, especially the windowless ones, many appreciate the hotel's cleanliness and tidy environment. A supermarket and a petrol station nearby add to the convenience, and the breakfast, with its variety of options, is generally considered a great way to start the day.

Solid Hotel Stay

free parkinghelpful servicevaried breakfastthin walls
The hotel offers a free parking. I found that useful because I rented a car. The staff provided helpful service . Breakfast included boiled eggs, bread, and coffee.
The room walls are thin. I could hear noise and conversations from other rooms.
Service
9/10
The reception operators are professional and helpful. Staff members are available to give information about attractions. I had a positive interaction with Lenny at the front desk, who seemed very nice.
Location
8/10
This location is near the heart of the city. It is within a few minutes walk. A supermarket is about three minutes away. Many tour agencies offer pick-up service at the hotel.
Facilities
8/10
The hotel features big common space and a bar. A little shop sells emergency meals. The shop is good if you arrive late after an excursion. I saw school groups often use this hotel.

convenient base for exploring

good selectionhelpful staffmissing hairdryer
I found the rooms to be clean and well kept. breakfast runs from 7-10 each morning. it has a good selection for the price point. Items include boiled eggs, porridge, cereal, breads, pastries, ham, salami, cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, jams, peanut butter, oranges, yogurt, tea, juices, and coffee. the front desk representative lenny is awesome, and the rest of the staff are very nice.
the room i stayed in was quite small and a bit tricky to move around, especially with luggage. i found there to be no hairdryer in the room which was inconvenient. it would be useful to have one available.
Rooms
8/10
The room had cozy beds and two blankets were provided. it was very clean. However the space was compact. storage space was minimal, so maneuvering around luggage was a bit of a challenge
Location
9/10
the hotel is conveniently located near a supermarket. there is also a gas station nearby, useful for those with rental cars. transportation to the airport and large tour buses can easily access the hotel for convenient pick-ups.
